Allergy Friendly Dogs

Allergy friendly means that 99.9% of people with asthma and/or allergies will not have reactions to the dander or the coat of the Australian Labradoodle.

The small population of people that have allergies to Australian Labradoodles are most likely allergic to dog saliva, and will generally react to any breed of dog, shedding or not.

The American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology estimates that 10% of the U.S. population suffers from allergies to animals.

Allergy friendly dogs produce fewer allergens than other dogs. Labradoodles are single-coated dogs, do not have a thick undercoat, and produce a lesser amount of allergens.  Dog allergens come from primarily from the dog’s skin and saliva. Dog allergens are breed specific, so some breeds, like the Australian Labradoodle, produce less allergens than other dogs.

To keep the allergy risk low you should only bath and groom your Australian Labradoodle monthly, as bathing them too often will remove oils from their coat, causing their skin to flake and potentially cause allergies.
